Bulger, William M. Presidential Scholarship The
University of Massachusetts (UMass) is offering five $10,000
scholarships to provide recognition of and financial assistance to five outstanding students. To be eligible for the William M. Bulger Presidential Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled full-time at one of the UMass campuses - Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, or Worcester
- Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell applicants must have an overall GPA of 3.25 with a minimum of 12 credits earned at UMass.

Karam, James J Presidential Scholarship The James J. Karam Scholarship was established in 2013 by James J. Karam. Mr. Karam is President and founder of First Bristol Corporation, a N.E. Real Estate Development Company. Mr. Karam’s current and past professional and civic affiliations are extensive. He is on the Board of Directors of the largest community for profit health care system in New England, Steward Health Care System, and was formerly the Chair of the UMass Board of Trustees. Mr. Karam also serves on the Board of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate in Boston, MA and is an alumnus of UMass Dartmouth.
Students selected for the James J. Karam Scholarship must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Be currently enrolled full-time (12+ day credits per semester) at one of the UMass campuses; or high school seniors applying to any UMass campus.
- Students at UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth and UMass Lowell shall have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above with a minimum of 12 credits earned at the University.

Ward, Cecilia Scholarship To support a deserving student with specific literary or performing arts talent who will be prepared to present a performance or reading of an essay in a public forum at the University. The student must have demonstrated consistent outstanding work in the selected areas, as indicated in his/her academic record. Preference will be givent to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Need based criteria may be referenced by the scholarship selection committee in their choice of the student only when two or more applicants have achieved equal academic standing in their performing arts or literary record. The goal is to give a $1,000 scholarship to two candidates a year, preferably to one in literature and one in a performance field.

Watson, Donald Scholarship To
support a full-time (12+ day credits per semester) junior majoring in Engineering and Science including Electrical Engineering,
Computer Engineering,
Computer Sciences, BioEngineering (Textiles and Materials) and/or Physics. Preference will be given to the student who displays a passionate desire to succeed in the above areas, shows outstanding leadership qualities, as well as outstanding communication skills. Their passion to succeed can be demonstrated by maintaining a 3.0 (or higher) cumulative GPA or by demonstrating an outstanding work ethic be it through the University's co-op program or other work program.
Other considerations include financial need or the loss of a parent to cancer.
Each scholarship will be up to $3,000 and the scholarship is renewable based on the student's academic performance and co-op experience.
