ACCOMPLISH Scholarship
The ACCOMPLISH program aims to provide a multi-faceted financial and social support and contextualized computing-centered educational framework for eligible STEM students to propel them into the nation's high-quality STEM workforce.
This program will fund scholarships up to the student's unmet financial need but no more than $10,000 to eligible full-time students. To be eligible for ACCOMPLISH, applicants:

STEM majors who don’t have any unmet financial need can still apply and be admitted into the ACCOMPLISH program. They will however not be funded.

The Alice Ayling Scholarship is designed to assist full-time (12+ day credits per semester) undergraduates, who are Massachusetts residents, and demonstrate academic promise as well as financial need. Bridging the Gap Scholarship
Support retention of students in good academic standing by providing emergency assistance to matriculated Undergraduate students who demonstrate an unanticipated financial emergency. The James J. Karam Scholarship was established in 2013 by James J. Karam. Mr. Karam is President and founder of First Bristol Corporation, a N.E. Real Estate Development Company. Mr. Karam’s current and past professional and civic affiliations are extensive. He is on the Board of Directors of the largest community for profit health care system in New England, Steward Health Care System, and was formerly the Chair of the UMass Board of Trustees. Mr. Karam also serves on the Board of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate in Boston, MA and is an alumnus of UMass Dartmouth.

Program Details
Students funded under the program receive the following benefits (while grant funds are available):
- Full-tuition scholarship (1-3 years depending on the degree program)
- Annual stipend (for living expenses): $37,000 for graduate students / $27,000 for Undergraduate students
- Additional annual funds to reimburse textbooks and professional development (including laptop, equipment for research/project, certifications/trainings, and professional travel), up to $6,000
- Participation in a targeted job fair and other professional development events for SFS scholars
Obligations
Students funded under this program incur the following obligations:
- Complete a degree program through a plan of study with a significant focus on security
- Search for and complete security-related government internships during the summers while funded under the program
- Search for and complete employment with the government immediately following graduation -- the period of employment must equal the duration of the scholarship
- Participate in conferences, job fairs, and meetings related to the SFS program
Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration for the SFS scholarship at UMass Dartmouth, the student must meet all of the following:
- a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
- a rising full-time senior undergraduate student, or a graduate full-time student, at UMass Dartmouth (prospective students must have applied separately for admission to Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Data Science)
- pursuing a plan of study with significant security content in their host department
- able to show strong evidence of their ability to obtain a Security Clearance (DoD clearance readiness assessment)
Evaluation criteria include (but are not limited to) academic qualifications (such as GPA), demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance (required for post-scholarship employment).

Ward, Cecilia Scholarship
To support a deserving student with specific literary or performing arts talent who will be prepared to present a performance or reading of an essay in a public forum at the University. The student must have demonstrated consistent outstanding work in the selected areas, as indicated in his/her academic record. Preference will be given to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Need based criteria may be referenced by the scholarship selection committee in their choice of the student only when two or more applicants have achieved equal academic standing in their performing arts or literary record. The goal is to give a $1,000 scholarship to two candidates a year, preferably to one in literature and one in a performance field.
If you are selected as a finalist, you will be contacted by the Scholarship Committee to schedule a presentation of an original artwork or a public reading of your essay. The presentation will occur before a committee comprised of Arts and Sciences, Visual and Performing Arts, and Theatre Company representatives.

Watkins, Bobby & Rillis Scholarship
To support a full-time (12+ day credits per semester) incoming freshman who graduated from New Bedford High School. Student must have demonstrated outstanding performance in character, leadership, scholarship and service in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in the community. Preference will be given to students who played football while attending New Bedford High School.
Annual awards will be $2,000 per student.

To support a full-time (12+ day credits per semester) junior majoring in Engineering and Science including Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, BioEngineering (Textiles and Materials) and/or Physics.

The $500 Jonathan Blake Waxler Memorial Prize for Social Justice recognizes a student who has exhibited a dedication to social activism, advocacy, community organizing, or civic engagement as a way of enhancing the dignity of all people.
