Applications: All Students are encouraged to complete the UMassD General Scholarship Application. This single application allows you to be considered for multiple scholarships; an application does not guarantee an award.
Essays written with ChatGPT and other AI Programs are very obvious. If you would like to use ChatGPT for inspiration, that is allowed. However, you must then change your responses so they are written in your own words. If we suspect an essay was written using ChatGPT or other AI Program, it will not be reviewed.
Deadlines: 2024/25 Applications are open. It is important to submit your completed application by the deadline; no applications will be accepted after the due date.
FAFSA: For need-based scholarships, you must file the 2024/25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by April 1st, and complete verification, if applicable. Please visit studentaid.gov to file your FAFSA.
Enrollment Status: Unless otherwise stated, scholarships require full-time enrollment status, which is 9+ day credits per semester for Graduate students and 12+ day credits per semester for Undergraduate students (not applicable to online and continuing education classes).
Notifications: Notifications are sent to your UMassD email account. You will receive a confirmation when your application is received. We will contact you if we need additional information, or if you have been selected for a scholarship. Applications are kept on file for the entire academic year.
Scholarship Recipients: Recipients are required to submit a thank you letter and donor questionnaire. Recipients may also be required to attend an annual event where they will meet the donor and be honored for their scholarship(s).
New students: Your login information is the same as your MYUMASSD, which you will receive once your application has been processed through our Admissions Office and you have made your deposit to enroll.
